A market correction may take time, so you may be working on fewer packages for, let's say, one or two years. But in the third or fourth year, you will find its performance comparable with the market.
No matter which organization you work for, if somebody needs to get an expected favor from management, they should understand the dynamic of how someone is promoted in their career. Accordingly, action should be taken. There is no fixed rule.
