For example, you got a package of 10 LPA, and someone homegrown at the same level is earning 7 LPA. They will try to level it in 2-3 appraisal cycles by giving homegrown folks more hikes and less to laterals. They should actually change this policy, as someone who came as a lateral was capable enough to clear interviews, has even proved their capabilities in the appraisal cycle, and is getting less than what they deserve.

Homegrown folks take good hikes and switch, so you have to keep in mind deserving ones should be given more hikes so that they don’t plan to leave the firm. As you know, max projects are AM projects, and people are not getting much development experience. At least pay them more to keep them happy.
