Pros

If you get a good client, you basically just gain the experience of working for the client company. Consulting in general is also a really good way to get a wide variety of experience. If you get a good offer and are on a good project, it's totally fine, and you're pretty much separated from all the company problems.

Cons

The company structure is aggressively hierarchical, and a lot of upper management are extremely out of touch and egotistical.

Projects can range from fine to extremely boring, and you're kind of left on your own to manage your own projects and chargeability.

Often, sales will promise things to clients that the actual individual contributors had no say in and would not be able to promise.
