Pros

The brand name of the company will make you like GOD in the marketplace. The skill sets and technologies deployed in client projects are marketable. Other consulting firms are likely to hire you because you work for Accenture.

Cons

Career path is under conditions.

If you are unstaffed for 2 months, you get no promotion in that year, regardless of whether it is off-season or not.

Lots of politics when it comes to promotion and annual review. You will need to have your project or engagement partners give huge pressure to your career counselor so that you can be promoted to the next level.

Compensation is worse than at other consulting firms. When I was involved in a recruiting event at Accenture, I told the interviewee to pick Deloitte Consulting if he could get offers from Accenture and Deloitte simultaneously, as Deloitte Consulting pays more.

Advice to Management

You know what? You better sell the company to a real consulting firm like Deloitte and IBM Global Business Services. Your cold-blooded approach doesn't earn any appreciation from your employees.
