I experienced a Software Engineer (not even a senior software engineer) being made to do lead tasks.
Lots of politics when it comes to promotion. I was a consistent high performer for a couple of years but did not get a promotion (not even a substantial increase).
They just compensated it through yearly performance bonus, which is good, but that does not mean anything in the long run.
