Probably was great, but now a shame. This is for Avanade PDC

Pros

Very process-oriented. Has some great people, and I mean "some." If you are a pretty hot girl with no technical knowledge but love to be in a position to boss people around, you'd have a fast track here. Non-tech people will succeed here, as tech people are often shy or silent. The culture requires being loud, energetic, and knowing how to connect with people in high places. Not sure if this goes for all, but we have nursing, hotel and restaurant management, media, etc., graduates here, and they ascend fast as they are only capable of admin work, not tech. And admin is what the company loves, not those tech people.

Cons

Lots of words, no action. Respect for individuals, blah blah, forced 10-hour work which they call "Work-Life Balance"...

Speaking, this is for the Philippine side, not sure if this is the same for other countries. But I'm part of the Avanade group, and it was disappointing. The leads are mostly non-techies pretending to be. It is a common culture to use "leakages" to get people to become "certified" and sellable to clients. Imagine a certificate that requires at least 4 years of experience? Well, fresh grads who start working at Avanade PDC can get it in just 1 month. Most of the people are ASEs (fresh grads) that clients would be better off hiring themselves, as they are paying a premium for quality made by newbies, since most of the experts have fled the company. You'd also hear abusive leads announcing they can kick people out of Accenture anytime, or words like, "Ha! Didn't he know I control his career?" Really sad for a brand like this.

Tech-oriented people beware! You will not grow here and will sooner leave or join the crowd of lazy pretenders. Promotion is based on connections. The system relies on self-input (you sell yourself), so even if you created an entire system and notes, "I did my job," versus a non-tech who only created the documentation but stated, "Improved the process and ensured quality for the developers, blah blah, and the client is happy and profited, blah blah," you lose the opportunity. More so if you are not "hot" or close to the manager, as he/she will be the one who will defend if you need to be promoted.

Experienced hires also beware. I joined their NJO (New Joiners Orientation), and this manager was making a joke where he points to himself and says, "Accenture," and points to the ground saying, "Others," then makes a gesture of stepping on a cockroach. And I get it. All other companies are cockroaches that Accenture steps on... A really stupid joke, since they are forgetting some of the people in the room came from what they see as cockroaches – the "Others."
