Pros

There is a pay increase if you do not belong to the "Below Peer Group." You can offset work hours if you render overtime. Health benefits. Great people to work with. Managed performance system. Open door policy. Competitive pay. Lots of career opportunities.

Cons
  • Low pay for starters.
  • No overtime pay.
  • Shifting schedules for some projects.
  • HR often tags employees to wrong project roles, regardless of their skills.
  • Some projects have bad management; you are lucky if you get a good project with a role matched to your skills.
  • HR dictates what role and project you will get. You have no right to choose which role and project you want.
  • Office politics. Some projects have an unfair promotion system; they promote who they know in the project.
  • "Up-or-out" system. If you don't get into the "Consistent with Peer Group" group or above, you are at risk of losing your job. This results in employees competing with each other to the point of backstabbing co-workers to get that promotion.
  • 45-hour work week, so employees are quite overworked.
Advice to Management

HR should pay attention to the employee's skill set and assign the right role.

Management should promote someone deserving to that position.
