Projects are sold with unrealistic estimates, therefore meaning long days happen on a very regular basis and are assumed by leadership.
Although programs exist around areas such as mental health, the underlying causes (unrealistic demands, long hours, not recording actual hours spent) are not being tackled.

Start mandating (as opposed to paying lip service to) the correct recording of hours. Ensure that guidance is not to just record the standard number of hours in your contract. This then feeds back into estimates for projects, ensuring realistic workloads, lower levels of burnout, and a more engaged workforce.
