Pros

• You gain lots of experience. • They accept fresh grads or career shifters without IT background and then train them. • Generally non-toxic environment. • Management doesn't micromanage; as long as you deliver your tasks on time, all is good, no questions asked. • Flexi-time. • Flexible work (hybrid). • Free trainings for upskilling and no bonds. • Lots of benefits.

Cons

When it comes to promotions, they require you to do "non-work" related tasks on top of your deliveries. And even if you're top-performing, if you don't do this extra task, it's hard to get a promotion.

The salary hardly gets increased, especially if you stay for so long in the company. So, it's better to jump to your next company once you get enough skill and experience. Otherwise, you'll have tons of work/responsibility but too little compensation increase.

The salary increase in promotions is just "Meh."

Health care provider benefits have lots of trouble.

RTO allowance depends on the project you work for.

There's everyday RTO for bench people.

Tenured hires have higher pay than people who stayed from career start to 5 years.

Advice to Management

Value your home-grown veteran worker bees. Most of them leave because they are paid under market standard rates.

  • Rebaseline your salary ranges for those who remain loyal to you.
