I recently joined Acorns, and a few different reasons convinced me to join.
Mission: This company truly rallies behind its mission of bringing financial wellness for the up-and-coming. Everyone is charged up about this, and I think this is a critical ingredient for a company's long-term success.
Team: My impression of the team is great. Folks are very collaborative and talented, with a lot of willingness to discuss & debate technical topics. I feel a strong drive to ship customer impact.
Late-stage startup that is heading in the right direction. Strong business, high NPS (customer satisfaction), and a clear plan to grow & scale.
Had a few missteps in the past as they transitioned into a performance-driven culture (good). Hopefully, they learned their lessons.
Fixed recently with a compensation update, but this was an area where they were short.

There were two interviews. Both interviews were technical, and you had the option to have them back to back. I chose to take a little break in between. Overall, it was not bad.
I did not get an offer, but this is the only company I have ever interviewed at where the recruiter actually called me to deliver the news and give me feedback. They were also very responsive and timely in getting my interviews set up. My interviewer
