Associate Software Engineer Interview Experience - United States

Process

I had a phone screen with a recruiter and a video conference with the hiring manager. I also completed a take-home technical exam.

After submitting the technical portion, I was ghosted.

I'm not bitter about the outcome, but I will say this is the only company I have ever interacted with that asked for hours of my time to complete a project and then outright ignored me. I've been ghosted on cold applications before, and that's fine. However, once you initiate an interaction with a potential employee and request hours of their work, you owe them a response, both as a respectful human and as a professional potential employer.

To be honest, I've never experienced a ruder process.
