I applied online for an entry-level Data Engineer position without a referral and was contacted by an overconfident recruiter. What made me very frustrated was that the recruiter stated this position requires external client-facing Data Engineer experience.
Specifically, the role needed someone who could:
- Work in a consulting firm and be client-facing.
- Code in Python, Airflow, and AWS.
I was shocked! If my background doesn't fit, why reach out?
Whoever has that technical or consulting experience would not go to Adobe! It was a total waste of time.

Introduce yourself and align the job tech stacks. The recruiter said it was not a good fit.
