Immediate managers and co-workers (like jobs anywhere) can make or break the deal. Get to know your team before you jump in. Not many other cons I can think of.
Continue to provide and require managers to complete training on how to manage teams in a positive manner. Help them learn to build people up and enable them to succeed.
