At first, I had a Skype interview with two Front-End Developers. We talked about my previous experience, how I prefer to work, what I like and don't like, and so on. In general, the interview went well, and I received positive feedback in a few days.
The next step was a technical task that they asked me to complete in 3-4 hours. I had to create an application that connects to a public API, shows information to the user, and gives them the possibility to filter the results.
I sent my test the very next day and got feedback in a week. The feedback was negative, pointing out UX/UI issues, the absence of Authentication and Error Handling, and some concerns regarding chosen technologies. Another comment was, "There is no real case to use this application. Why would I want to use this?" This was particularly noted, taking into account that the application had been done according to their specification.
While, in general, I agree with most of the comments provided to me, I don't really think it is possible to create a fully developed application within 3-4 hours.
In conclusion, this hiring process seemed to be really odd, and I'm rather happy to be rejected at this stage.
