Software Engineer Interview Experience - Madrid, Spain

Process

I applied online. The process took 2 months.

Interview process contained a few steps:

  • First I had a video call with the recruiter.
  • Then I needed to complete a HackerRank assessment containing 5 questions related to SQL, data-structures, and concurrency in 180 minutes, which looked unfair!
  • Then I had another interview with 2 senior developers from Adyen to review my solution in HackerRank.
  • At the end I had an interview with a team lead in the company in person.

It was a standard interview process, but it took about 2 months, and after each step I had to chase the recruiter to get an update every time. All the interviews went well, but in the last interview I had a feeling that maybe they don't need any more developers. It was just a waste of time. The project is also legacy. At the end I received a typical rejection email without any info! Just don't waste your time on this company.

Questions

Some question about their formula in their website. They are crazy about it! Even the formula is what most companies and developers follow. They are not flexible to hear something else!
