I applied online in mid-2020 and was contacted around September.
I had a phone call with one of the principal engineers, who was very friendly. We talked a little about my projects and what Agoda is doing.
The first round was a take-home test in Java, which they gave me a week to complete. I felt I nailed that one pretty well. The test content was to write a data compression program. I can't specify the details, as it would be unfair to other interviewees.
The second round was conducted by the hiring team manager and a senior engineer. It involved a coding exercise and some more questions about my experiences. The coding question was a brain teaser.
Right after the second round, I was approached by the head of the department, who told me about their current work at Agoda.
Two days later, I received the offer I had asked for. However, due to personal reasons, I had to decline. In general, though, the interview process was a good experience.
