This position is for a role in Bangkok. The company was posting on LinkedIn with various US locations, but explicitly stated they would relocate candidates to Bangkok, which is how I found the opportunity. I applied and was contacted within one day for the first screening stage.
The first stage involved one timed test, consisting of multiple-choice questions and three coding problems. After passing this, I scheduled a Skype interview. During this interview, I was asked some general knowledge questions and a few coding questions. The knowledge questions were somewhat unusual, focusing on theory rather than practical applications.
Following that, there was a coding challenge that could be completed at my own pace, with a deadline of several days. This was an engaging exercise, with optional extensions for those interested, but the instructions cautioned against spending an entire day on it in total hours.
Next, I had one more Skype interview that included behavioral questions, knowledge questions, and two coding problems.
After this, I was informed I would proceed to the next stage, which was an on-site interview. An engineering manager contacted me to provide more details on logistics and salary to set expectations.
Finally, the booking for the on-site, fly-out interview began. It took them a couple of days to finalize the logistics. After some back and forth, everything was confirmed; they booked all arrangements for me approximately four weeks in advance, and I started preparing for the trip.
Several days later, however, they decided to cancel the entire on-site interview due to changed project priorities. This was quite disappointing, as I had already rearranged my schedule. They were very polite in their communication, which I appreciated.
Overall, the interview screens were not technically very difficult. Candidates should be mindful of scheduling across time zones. The company was responsive when arranging the initial screens but became less so when figuring out the on-site logistics.
