Overall, this was one of the absolute worst experiences I’ve had. Looking through past reviews, it’s a shame no one tries to fix the process. I was very excited to have my interview, having over 20 years of experience, and I was looking forward to working for a reputable company.

Upon signing on to the interview, the interviewer joined and said nothing until I introduced myself and asked about the format. The interviewer proceeded to say they were waiting on someone else to join so they could shadow. I asked why their camera wasn’t on, and they told me it was fine if my camera was off, as they weren’t turning theirs on. It was now pretty apparent this interviewer had poor communication skills and no experience conducting interviews, most importantly technical interviews.

The interview continued as if a robot was conducting it. I provided answers and coded a working solution without any feedback from the interviewer. The only way I knew the answers were correct was because the test cases passed. The interview ended 15 minutes early, with no feedback, no introductions, and no time for questions.

I really hope Airbnb looks at these reviews and does something about this, but I highly doubt it, as it looks like this has been happening for quite some time. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time or energy. Thanks for nothing!
