Airbnb reached out to me a couple of weeks after I submitted my resume online. I had an initial phone screen with an engineer, which followed a pretty standard format: it covered my previous experience, then presented a technical question. I ran out of time at the end with the question, but the interviewer graciously gave me an extra 5-10 minutes to finish writing the code because my solution was super close.
I was invited to an on-site a few days later. The on-site began with a tour of the office and then consisted of two technical interviews and one cultural interview. The technical interviews were in a pair-programming style. I was able to use a whiteboard to write out my thoughts, but I had to write working code on a laptop.
The next day, I was asked to complete one more technical interview through Skype. This also turned out to be a pretty standard interview.
Overall, it was a long but fun experience.
