Recruiter was top-notch. Detail-oriented, very attentive, and helpful. I was rejected, but got the whole picture of where I failed, which was super useful.
The interviews, however, were odd. Two coding challenges, system design, and a deep dive into a previous project.
The two coding challenges had nothing to do with the actual job. For example, one was to write a card game, and another was to write a photo gallery (with live picture updates and timeouts). The system design asked to develop a mobile chat application and wanted to get very detailed about all the intricacies of WebSockets and online/offline flows – something that is mainly used for real-time applications and was certainly not the application I was applying for here.
Write a card game and style it.
