Applied online, a recruiter reached out and conducted a brief phone screen. They insisted I provide a salary range or number.
After this, I was invited to complete an online job simulation assessment and a multiple-choice behavioral questionnaire, which took around two hours.
The next step, if successful, was a technical phone screen with a Cloud Infrastructure Architect. They asked mostly technical interview questions and "Why Amazon?" This was fairly easy and enjoyable.
Then, if you ace all that, you are invited for the final LOOP interview process, which consisted of several one-hour, back-to-back interviews.
There were two technical interviews:
The other three interviews were all behavioral-based and expected responses based on the STAR format. Unfortunately, the interviewer picks the questions, so I ended up being asked the same questions by all three interviewers. About 70% of the questions were based on handling conflict, missing a deadline, or persuading your team to follow your direction. If you don't have stories from a similar position you are applying for, they don't seem too interested in what you have to say.
During one of these interviews, I was constantly interrupted when trying to answer their questions, which really soured my overall experience. It felt more like an interrogation than an interview.
Once finished, they promised to give you the outcome in two to five business days. I got a response in under 48 hours, but unfortunately, no feedback was provided.
Explain a time you didn't complete a task on time. What was the task and what was the outcome?
Describe a project or idea (not necessarily your own) that was implemented due to your efforts. Did it help the organization? If yes, then how?
Tell me about a situation where you had to solve a complex problem with a simple solution.
Describe a time you didn’t think you were going to meet a commitment you promised. How did you handle this?
Give me an example of a time you were able to deliver an important project under a tight deadline.
Tell me about a time you went above and beyond for a customer.
Can you describe a difficult interaction you’ve had with a customer? How did you deal with it? Thinking back, what would you do differently?
