Process

I applied online and interviewed at Amazon (Canada) in June 2021.

I had one phone screening interview with basic SQL questions (AVG, GROUP BY, HAVING) and a few questions about my experience.

After a few days, I was invited to a virtual loop consisting of five interview rounds.

  • The first interview was purely behavioral. All questions are available online or on YouTube.
  • The second focused on SQL and data modeling, covering star vs. snowflake schemas, SCD types, and LeetCode easy/medium level questions.
  • After lunch, I interviewed with the hiring manager, who asked very general questions about my experience and behavioral questions.
  • The fourth interview was more about designing data pipelines, scaling, and monitoring.
  • Finally, the fifth interview was pure coding, LeetCode easy level, with a few questions about databases (NoSQL vs. SQL, relational vs. columnar, etc.).

After a few days, I received an answer.

Questions

They will ask you a lot of questions about the LPs. You should be ready to answer using the STAR method.
