I had two interviews, each with a different Language Engineer. These individuals would take on an advisory role for my position but wouldn’t officially be the manager I’d report to.
They were both great people who made an excellent impression on me, demonstrating both strong personality and expertise.
Each interview lasted about an hour. The first 40 minutes were dedicated to testing crucial skills for the role, specifically annotation and designing annotation guidelines. The remaining 20 minutes focused on “behavioral” questions related to Amazon’s leadership principles.
Later, I received an offer with a salary much lower than I expected. Consequently, I asked to speak with the hiring manager to see if negotiation was possible.
Ultimately, I declined the offer due to the low salary and the low skill requirements of the position, as described by the hiring manager.
