Soulless, bloody enterprise

QAE II • Current Employee

Pros: They claim to have an Amazon way, leadership principles. A lot of people, L5 and down, try to follow that.

Cons: Management lives in their own world. Nobody cares about those leadership principles.

Good Pay, Slow Raises

Pros: - Good stock once you are high enough. - Good vacation and time off. - Paid double what other employers in my area paid for someone without a degree. (This is area specific.)

Cons: - Raises are less than the cost of inflation. - Stock doesn't vest for 2-3 years at a time generally. Since that's most of your compensation, this can make it tough to qualify for a home or loan. - Too many hands in the pot.

Smart Team, Decent Pay

Software Development Engineer (SDE) • Current Employee

Boston, Massachusetts, United States

Pros: - My team is smart and amazing. - The compensation. My old job was paying less than half of what I make now, but I wasn't an SDE at that time. - The view from the office at BOS21 is cool. - The amount of job opportunities.

Cons: I work in BOS21 and was expecting more to the office, but there's not much here besides a decent cafeteria and a lot of workspace. Lack of benefits/perks compared to other top companies. The bulk of the RSUs are granted after a long time.
