Pros: Very customer-centric and gives you the opportunity to focus on meeting customer needs. This always gives me a sense of personal satisfaction to see a happy customer. I work with some of the smartest people in the industry. It gives me a chance to learn from them. Most AWS employees are bar-raisers by nature. Learning is encouraged at AWS, and one is always encouraged for new opportunities to learn and specialize. The learning never stops! I feel valued by my team and my manager. There is a lot of cohesion in our teams, and my manager is really an amazing leader!

Cons: None comes to mind currently.

Pros: Everything from the interview process, to the onboarding, to the promotion process is thoughtful at Amazon. Amazon embraces the concept that innovation inherently means there will be failure, and that is part of the process. There is a focus on creating mechanisms to scale good ideas and create an easy path to do the best thing for any given context. The people that work at Amazon are smart and capable by default (I have yet to meet an exception). Everyone is very willing to help, and there are no perceptible political boundaries within the organization. There is truly a top-down laser focus on customer value, and every decision is put up against that litmus test. This is truly a company that values data-driven decision making, adaptability based on new information, and truth-seeking.

Cons: The organization is very flat. This is actually a pro when it comes to empowerment of teams, but it tends to make things complex. The key to success is networking and building relationships. This isn't a con per se, but something to match up to your personality in order to determine if it's the right fit for you. Additionally, Amazon is a narrative-focused company. PowerPoint presentations have limited value, if any, and articulate writing is how you sell your ideas. Again, not a negative, but something to understand before applying.

Pros: Amazing onboarding process. Fantastic, talented people to learn from. Lots of opportunity. Cutting-edge technology.

Cons: None I can think of so far.
