Process
Round 1: Online Assessment
This assessment is 4 hours long, but realistically takes about 3 hours. It includes 70 minutes dedicated to two coding questions. The assessment consists of:
- Two LeetCode-type coding questions
- A work simulation test
- Behavioral/work-style questions
Round 2: 3x60 Interviews
This round consists of three 60-minute interviews, totaling 3 hours. The interviews are conducted back-to-back:
- The first interview is both technical and behavioral. The interviewer will ask behavioral questions as well as coding problems.
- The second interview is purely technical, with the interviewer asking only coding questions.
- The third interview is purely behavioral.

Pros: Most teams at AMZN are packed with smart people who just want to build awesome stuff and do it cheaply and efficiently. Management honestly cares about customers and the bottom line at the same time. The community of people there will jump to help a colleague with any problem, professional or personal, with a smile. Many more teams care about work-life balance and operational happiness in the last few years.
Cons: Some teams are bogged down with uninteresting, unskilled hangers-on who want to get their salary as quietly as possible, finding as much work to do as possible whether or not it is relevant or needed. The performance measurement process is so broken it's humorous in retrospect. Managers can skew results in any direction they want. Jealous peers can kick someone out of their team with little effort or repercussions. Internal politics, rarely but unavoidably, create extra work and stress that ends up being for naught.

Cons: Work will crush you unless you're an absolute workaholic.
Most employees just feel like robots and soulless.
