Online assessment, then a 60-minute phone screen over Zoom.
The interviewer introduced themselves and the team and went straight into two Leadership Principles questions, then live coding in Amazon's own online editor, with a few minutes for my questions at the end.
The coding question was a variant of Number of Islands: an int grid where 0 is land and 1 is water, and islands that touch the border don't count.
The interviewer asked for the high-level algorithm before coding.
