Pros: Great place to get started. You can work with a lot of different technologies and get the Amazon stamp of approval on your resume.
Cons: My personal experience as an SDE Intern screened me from a lot of the downsides of working at Amazon, but I know many other fellow interns who had to work continuous extra hours (all the time, not just at push). In addition, the Amazon work model lends itself to being "on-call" – a.k.a. giving up your personal life for a week once every two months to support your team's software.

Pros: Amazon provides excellent starting salaries to interns and recent college grads. The benefits and moving packages are excellent, and they help you get settled in. The atmosphere is comfortable. While you are only one person in a large company, you will find it easy to meet others, and they do a good job of helping you feel like part of the team.
Cons: The excellent starting pay may not increase as much as you would like it to after working there for a while.
If your team is small, expect to be on call a lot. When you are on call, expect there to be a lot of problems and little sleep.

Pros: The pay is high, I guess.
Cons: You will hate the job and yourself in short order. Management is incompetent and constantly changing. Priorities change on a whim and never include operational support. Interaction with other teams is constant fights because all teams have competing priorities with no proper multiteam planning mechanisms. The whole tech stack is a house of cards that is falling apart at the seams as we speak. The company culture will bring out the worst in both you and your teammates.
