After 11 years, I started job searching, and Amazon was the first company to select my resume for an SDM role in AWS. The hiring process is very structured and impressive; it makes you feel as though you have already begun the journey to become part of the company.

Below are the steps I went through:

1. I applied via LinkedIn for an SDM role in AWS.
2. I received an email from the recruiter within a week asking for my availability to talk.
3. I provided availability for the next day, and the recruiter scheduled a 30-minute phone call. The recruiter was very nice, asked a few questions, and informed me they would contact me for a screening interview.
4. I received an email requesting a few time slots for a 30-minute phone call interview, which I replied to the same day.
5. My first phone call screening interview was scheduled a week later. This went fine; all the behavioral questions were easy to answer.
6. Two days later, I received a congratulatory email selecting me for the next round and asking for a few full-day slots for loop interviews, which I provided.
7. I received a standard written assignment that I completed.
8. My loop interview was scheduled, and they provided the names of the interviewers and the time slots.
9. The recruiter helped me prepare during those two weeks and went above and beyond throughout the entire process. They genuinely want you to succeed.
10. The interview was straightforward; all questions were expected, and even the bar raiser identified himself as such.
11. I received a result email after two days stating they decided not to move forward with me this time.

Overall, it was an open-book interview process, but it all depends on how much preparation you did. I didn't do a lot of preparation, and I am responsible for my own failure, so I have no complaints.
