Pros: Amazon gives you complete flexibility on the domains you want to work on.
They never restrict people on the basis of their positions. For example, a SDE1 is free to work and own a design.
Cons: Because it is a customer-centric company, it provides special attention to delivery and minimizing customer impact in case of issues. Sometimes developers have to work harder and take on more responsibilities compared to engineers in other organizations.
