Process

The first round was a take-home assessment. It had two questions: one easy and one hard. I had between 60 and 90 minutes to complete it; I don't remember exactly.

After passing the take-home assessment, there was the final round. This consisted of four 1-hour-long interviews:

  • DSA
  • System design
  • Clean code
  • Problem solving (coding for a more vague product spec instead of a DSA/LeetCode-like question)

Each of these interviews also asked two to three leadership questions at the beginning.

I'd also like to mention that my recruiter really went above and beyond to prepare me for the final round interviews. They provided about six different informational sheets and two websites specific to Amazon, as well as a couple of LeetCode-like sites and several books. They also encouraged me to attend the group prep calls, which went into even more detail. Additionally, they provided a very detailed interview agenda that gave recommendations on what type of answers would do well for their leadership (behavioral) questions and more specifics on what they look for and what to expect for the four technical components.
