If a candidate has an accent, it will be an uphill battle with very little chance of moving forward in the interview process.
I am wondering if an audit (government) should be done on their hiring practices.
Amazon (AWS) claims to only hire the best. This is not true at all.
They are hiring people with great speaking skills, not people with great technical skills and the drive to do the work.
