Management in my department is committed to maintaining a healthy work-life balance for their direct reports. They also do a great job of recognizing accomplishments, whether completing a certification, peer-to-peer recognition, or positive client feedback. Furthermore, they provide time and opportunities to continue to build and develop skill sets.
Amazon truly values and holds Amazonians accountable for all their leadership principles.
Everyone at Amazon is a rockstar. Some of the brightest people I've worked with are very helpful and willing to share their knowledge.
The promotion process is great, with objective criteria for promotions. Everyone who deserves a promotion gets one, unlike most companies where there are 10 people ready for promotions, but only 3 get promoted based on budget for the department or some rule in place.
401K, which the company matches 50% of an employee's contribution up to 4%.
The compensation package is too RSU heavy, which is taxed at a higher percent, is not eligible for 401K contributions, and is provided based on how much the company forecasts the value for vesting periods.
Most companies give you x amount for RSUs without factoring potential growth as part of your compensation.
For instance, Company XYZ provides a 115K base and 35K for RSUs, which will vest over 3 years. The 35K of RSUs is worth 70K when it vests after 3 years. Company XYZ considers this compensation package at 150K even though the RSUs almost doubled when they vested.
Amazon, in the same example, will consider they compensated their employee 185K (we gave you 35K of RSUs and plan for it to be worth 70K when it vests).
Keep up the great job insisting on higher standards, hiring and developing the best, and striving to be the earth's best employer.
1. Phone screen call with TA. 2. Phone call with another recruiter. 3. At-home assignment: architect a cloud solution for a problem statement. 4. Video call with an architect to walk through your solution.
This is a written round on paper for everyone. Three coding-related jobs were assigned. To move on to the next round, two of the three must be correct and manage every single edge case. Only the best choice was to be considered. * **Find the suba
Applied, waited a while, got OA, two-question LC med, final round behavioral + LC easy. Waitlisted then got off the waitlist. Pretty chill process, maybe somewhat RNG with interviewer. Chill process overall.
