A lot of interesting, smart colleagues with backgrounds from all around the world to learn from (technically and culturally).
Huge company, yet still allowed to own your own projects and try out things, as long as you show that it makes sense using data.
I work for Amazon Web Services specifically and enjoy having an own account in which I can experiment.
Working on projects that have real impact on other people is very satisfying.
Nice working environment.
A lot depends on your direct manager. I switched managers a few times and really noticed the difference.
One of my managers was just trying to do too many things himself. Due to that, he failed to perform his responsibilities as a manager (at least I felt that way for the parts I was involved in with him). He also would say he'd action things for you, while not coming through.
Under him, it was also much more difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Probably without the time under this manager, I would even have given a 5-star overall rating.
The process included application screening, an online assessment, and a technical screening. This was followed by three interviews: * One behavioral * One for DSA problem-solving * A final interview combining technical and behavioral question
The interviewer introduced themselves and explained the format of the interview. I was given a coding problem to solve in real-time. Standard behavioral/cultural fit questions. Time for me to ask questions about the role/company.
An online assessment that takes 70 minutes is a waste of time, in my opinion. It was supposed to be for a graduate role, but they made me complete a HackerRank assessment with random problems worded in a confusing way.
