I myself had to reach out to managers/directors to get involved with additional meetings, which is both a pro and a con.
Pro: I was able to show initiative and passion.
Con: I was not automatically invited to a lot of meetings, which is understandable. They don't want to overwhelm interns, but as a driven individual, I wanted to maximize the opportunity.
Overall, very fast-paced and high expectations (both a pro and a con since it kept me pushing myself to achieve the max).
