Pros
  • Very competitive salary.
  • Three months for onboarding and learning.
  • The culture is good for active people who like challenges.
  • You learn a lot, and if you want, you can grow.
  • Many mechanisms, principles, and tenets of the company are useful for real life as well.
  • You will be working in a place with a lot of values, both technical and non-technical.
  • This is rewarding and makes you feel valued as a person.
Cons
  • Sometimes you are on your own. People are so busy that they don't have time for you.

  • You have to ask questions to ask for help. Usually, someone will try to help you. Otherwise, they will assume that you are smart and don't need it, so don't be afraid of asking questions.

  • The onboarding DevOps/Devs workshop is very short in time, and the final task assumes previous AWS knowledge. This can be improved with better planning and guidance, after all, many new hires are new to AWS services.

Advice to Management

My onboarding buddy was very passive, just sitting and waiting for my questions. This can be improved with more specific and measurable tasks for onboarding buddies, otherwise replace them by a Lex bot.
