Pros

The stock has been doing very well.

Lots of autonomy.

Easy to get a good review, tough to get promoted.

If you have a strong sense of self, you can avoid getting bullied and have a very good work-life balance.

Cons

If you stay longer than 2-4 years, you’re an old-timer.

People leave because they can get paid a lot more elsewhere, which means you may end up working with very green or very mediocre employees.

Some of the groups in Amazon avoid change at all costs — status quo all the way!

Advice to Management

You have a young, creative, energetic workforce that gets stifled and beaten down by middle management. Please incentivize managers to encourage and reward innovation.
