Pros
  1. A lot of new things to learn and understand.
  2. Best place to learn scalability.
  3. Good compensation.
  4. Flexible hours (can be counted as a con for Amazon).
Cons
  1. The management is terrible and has too much power. You can be put in serious trouble for not completing projects on deadlines.

  2. Too business-oriented. While there is a lot to learn, not enough time is given to learn stuff.

  3. On-calls which can really mess up your personal life.

  4. Working on the weekends is encouraged here, especially if some project is approaching a deadline.

  5. No good benefits or perks.

Advice to Management

Instead of treating employees as replaceable commodities, try to treat them as humans and respect the hard work they are putting in.
