Pros

Internal transfers are very easy. You can find new, exciting teams and switch. However, it has been more competitive recently; people have been looking to move more often.

Personal growth opportunities for leadership and end-to-end ownership.

Cons

Arlington, VA does not have any exciting teams or charters. It feels less like an HQ2; quite boring teams and projects.

There is toxicity and politics within some organizations, where you're competing with your peers and teams. Career growth/promotions have gotten more competitive, and you have to play politics.

The RTO mandate limits opportunities to your location unless you're willing to move.

Advice to Management
  • Middle manager politics hurts strong performers and pushes good people out.
  • Arlington, VA needs more innovation opportunities.
  • Culture is rotting.
