Good but too much frugality
Ways of approaching problem-solving:
- Using documentation, reviews, and PR FAQs
- Very nice co-workers
- Projects can be interesting
- Flexibility to work outside of the office (either from home or for a few days in another country)
- Operation processes
- Internal tools are causing lots of pain and reducing productivity.
- Timelines for delivery are way too ambitious, resulting either in failure, loss of quality, and generating stress for developers.
- Prioritization often goes to feature delivery as opposed to quality.
- Frugality is sometimes ridiculous.
- Very slow career/salary progression (usually lower than inflation).
- Give people time to do their job.
- Push for better quality rather than new features.
- Stop rebuilding everything internally. Buy some tools, software, or licenses so that developers can focus on their job, not on how to make the software work with the internal tools.
