I enjoyed my time at Amazon and learned a lot. I got to work at a scale that is hard to replicate at a small startup.
I had a lot of manager churn, getting a new manager at least once a year for the entire duration of my tenure. Also, while the tech was cool, I felt I was too far from the actual users of the stuff I built to feel much satisfaction about it. Now I'm at a startup and feel much better about it.
