PIP culture causes anxiety. It does not attract the best talent in the industry anymore. Lots of development managers from non/less technical backgrounds are dropping the quality of engineering leadership.

Advice to Management

Stop moving QAMs and TPMs to SDM roles. It's bad for SDE morale and team productivity.

Pip culture is opaque and should be done away with. There should be a better process to weed out talent. Many teams have hired people just to fire them.

Need to find a solution for empire building for promotions, which also creates teams that aren't diverse.
