Challenging problems from the real world combined with Amazon's scale make most scalable solutions obsolete in a few years. The pace of development is fast. Each employee is a leader and an owner. It's great to be among people who are constantly improving things because they want to and not because they are asked to.
On-call support can be bad.
Work-life balance, growth, etc. – a lot depends on your manager. I am lucky to have a good manager, but not everyone is.
Try to ensure the culture doesn't dilute as you hire more and more new people. Also, the hiring bar seems to be going down. It's not as much fun to work with mediocre people.
