Pros

Allowed WFH in the past. Good culture overall. Ability to learn useful skills and work on various things. Interesting AWS projects.

Cons

Amazon declared RTO for 3 days a week. No longer allows WFH. This is a major downside. I'll spend at least 4.5 hours a week on commute, almost a full working day lost in a week. I'm also less productive in the office. It's harder to communicate in the office, not easier. Remotely, while on a call, everyone has a comfortable setup and ability to share screens. In the office, you're either forced to talk around people or need to run into a meeting room with a small laptop while asking someone else to join – awful. Amazon made my life worse in order for me to be less productive and less willing to overwork myself. Both me and Amazon will lose from this decision.

  • Work-life balance is sometimes lacking; it depends on the team.
  • Pay could be better, taking into account taxes: around 35% for salary, 52% for RSUs.
Advice to Management

Do everything you can to reverse the decision that forces people into the offices. You'll see people working less, not more. Be less happy, spend less time with their families. We're not entitled to have WFH, but that's the best decision for both Amazon and employees.
