The average tenure at Amazon is very low for engineers. With the current drive to downsize, it is extremely difficult for those remaining, filled with stress and anxiety.
Laying off thousands and then forcing others to relocate or 'voluntary resign' with no career certainty has caused undue stress, dropped morale, and will make it more difficult to recruit in the future.
