The embark process was well thought out; it almost covered all you need to work as an SA in AWS.
Once said that, it's really nice to be welcomed. Everybody in my team has been very respectful and supportive during these 3 months.
You have plenty of time to focus on your onboarding and learn a lot of cool things in the AWS way.
You will not be put on the frontline without receiving proper training. I do not mean only watching videos or reading documents; we have partners and colleagues who share their experiences with you, and also the chance to do shadowing for customer meetings or interviews. Definitely, this is the best, as you can learn from experience in a safe environment.
There are plenty of opportunities to learn from really skilled people in different topics. As a result, you would get an overview of options for you to choose how to develop your career and skills.
In my case, I relocated to a different country with all the challenges that it means. However, the experience with AWS for this process has been really stress-free. I could not have had better support!
I would not say "cons," but there are a couple of things that could be challenging. A lot of tools can be a little overwhelming at first, but once you get used to them, you will be fine. The LPs are really part of your journey in AWS, and it could be frustrating to change your mindset at first. But again, the onboarding is also about realizing where we need to adapt and why we need to do it. You will have all the support from your leader and team to be successful. Nine mothers cannot make a baby in one month, so it's all about keeping up your best effort.
Got an online assessment. It took me 3.5 hours and asked about Amazon values and questions about networking and Linux. If you have good IT fundamentals and decent reasoning skills, you should be fine.
1. Resume selected by the recruiter 2. 2-3 hours online technical and non-technical assessment 3. Phone interview (technical and non-technical, video call) 4. Loop interview (5 x 1-hour interviews)
It went quite well. The interviewer was very kind and accommodating. They asked expected and sensible questions. It was a very great interview. The interviewers were very professional and friendly. They were awesome.
