Not really much. If you get lucky, you can work on backend stuff that works at huge scalability, which is good experience for going to another company.
But most of the software stitching together most of Amazon is pretty terrible. We don't work backwards from a business/customer use case. We set a hyper-aggressive date, ship a minimal, incomplete product to customers, then you fib metrics to make your chain look better.
Discrimination of protected classes/characteristics is rampant here. I've seen H1B managers prefer engineers of their country of origin and manage out capable engineers with Green Cards or citizenship who refused to not slave away. I've also been discriminated against within this company for having a leg injury.
Applied, waited a while, got OA, two-question LC med, final round behavioral + LC easy. Waitlisted then got off the waitlist. Pretty chill process, maybe somewhat RNG with interviewer. Chill process overall.
It was easy and to the point. The interviewer was sweet and allowed me enough time to think about how to approach solving the problems. The coding question asked was for an inventory and managing it. It was an easy solve with the right data structure
The interview process was quick, consisting of three panels: technical, behavioral, and system design aspects. The interviewers were friendly, approachable, and helpful. Overall, it was a very positive and smooth experience.
