Process
The process started when a recruiter from LinkedIn contacted me. After two rounds of phone interviews, the company arranged a face-to-face interview at their Singapore site. It consisted mostly of technical questions about my previous experience.
The on-site interview included:
- One session with the hiring manager.
- One session with future team members.
- One session with the department manager.
Two weeks after the on-site interview, the company HR delivered the offer package.

Pros: You'll end up developing a habit of self-learning and documenting work, with the assumption that you won't be around to deal with its problems next time.
Cons: Purely executional work, driven only by deadlines, regardless of how experienced the teams are or how many challenges the products pose. No respect for fellow employees, and an overall air of anger from all higher management, translating to a revolving door of engineers.
No team members are between tenure ages of 4-10 years. You either leave by year 4 when RSU vests, or become part of the culture and stay another 10.

Pros: The schedule is generally flexible, and you are treated like a professional, left alone to get your work done.
Cons: There are so many meetings! Also, things always are changing, so it can be chaotic.

Pros: Collaborative workplace, working with smart people.
Cons: Recognition is not given to employees doing the job right the first time but is given to those who fix problems they created themselves in the first place. Your career assessment is predetermined by your manager; your self-assessment is merely a formality. An unfair bell curve assessment guarantees someone gets the bottom 10% ranking, even though your team is considered a high performer among the BU. There are more and more middle managers than actual engineers.
