I spoke to the hiring manager on the phone, and he then scheduled four interviews: two on Friday, one on the following Tuesday, and one on Wednesday.
On Friday, I had a tech screening and a behavioral interview. The tech screening was the worst I've ever experienced. The interviewer began by expressing her dislike for LeetCode-style screenings, and then proceeded to give me a problem she had created. It was a LeetCode-style problem, but the description made no sense whatsoever. I tried to ask for clarification, but the interviewer would launch into long, rambling explanations of things I already understood that were unrelated to the interview. I had to continually interrupt and restate my question because I wasn't given much time to complete the task, as she hadn't allocated enough. Before the coding section, she discussed her previous work at Silicon Valley startups and how this company wasn't one. She spoke at length about the money she used to make and how startups operate, but didn't really explain how AMD differed. The behavioral interview was fairly normal.
After those interviews, on Monday night at 9 PM, my remaining interview meeting invites were cancelled with no explanation. I responded to the person who cancelled and the hiring manager (whom I was to meet with on Tuesday at 5 PM) to request an explanation. I heard nothing before the interview was scheduled, so I joined anyway, and no one showed up. I didn't receive any explanation as to what was going on until 9 PM Tuesday night, four hours after my interview was supposed to happen. At that point, I only received a prewritten response and no apology.
I've never felt so disrespected during an interview process. The team seemed disorganized, and it appeared no one knew what the process was. AMD recruiting had no involvement in the process, which probably explains why it was so poor. I spoke to the HM on LinkedIn, and everything was arranged through him.
