Pros

The people are nice, the work is interesting, and flight benefits are always a plus. It is always neat to work around and on airplanes.

Cons

The onboarding process is run by a third party, and the setup for your first day can be a pain.

Engineering requires numerous accesses to various databases and services, but none of these are requested before you arrive. Expect several weeks of not being able to do much while waiting for managers and IT groups to approve you for access.

Advice to Management

Speed up the onboarding process by requesting all accesses well in advance and allow the employee to arrive with a print-out list of temporary access passwords and usernames waiting for them.

Additional introduction and training systems specific to engineering processes and applications would be very helpful as well.
